This scholarship comes from an authorized FiOS Retailer from Verizon. One student will be awarded $1,000 if they can list the top five ways social media has improved their educational experience. They’re looking for short and concise descriptions of each of the five ways you gave. There are many ways students use social media to enhance their educational experience. For instance, a 2009 Kaplan study found that over 70 percent of admissions officers were added as friends from students on Facebook in hopes of getting a leg in a specific institution. Also, there are many college-based businesses that have sprung up to help students excel in the classroom and they’ve used social media to advertise their services (GradeFund and Cramster are but a few). Just come up with your own unique reasons how social media has helped you and be sure to share your work with friends and family. The deadline for applications is November 30.
As is the case with many easy scholarships, the online application is quite simple. Just include some contact information in addition to your response to the question. They emphasize that you be to the point while also using creativity so that your response will stand-out from among the rest. In order to be eligible, you must have maintained a 2.5/4.0 GPA for both incoming freshmen for the spring semester in 2013 and college students. Incoming freshmen must also have completed the SAT or ACT before applying. The winner of this scholarship will be announced on December 10, 2012 with entries judged on thoughtfulness, creativity, insight and post promotion. The scholarship can be used for fees, books, graduate and undergraduate tuition and on-campus room and board. Pretty straightfoward. If you have any questions feel free to contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Other Places to Find Easy Scholarships
Many college-based businesses typically offer easy scholarships throughout the year so it’d be wise to keep an eye out for these companies. A few include 2400 Expert, MoolahSpot.com and various college or scholarship matchmaking sites. Of course, the services they provide are themselves quite valuable, but if in need of college funds then it would be prudent to take advantage of their programs. Another helpful site formally known as CampusLive is Dailybreak.com which offers prizes from bite-sized contests that can range from gift cards, furniture, cash, gadgets and more. Otherwise just keep visiting the site to check for updates on new or upcoming easy scholarships. Good Luck!
