Easy Scholarships Coming Out This Spring

Spring is just around the corner! Find out what easy scholarships are available to apply for!

Do you need money for college but worry about the time and effort involved in applying for scholarships? Are you concerned that you don’t have the skills, writing prowess, or accomplishments that will win you an award? Do you think you missed the boat by not applying for scholarships back in the fall? Not to worry. The five easy scholarships described below are a snap to apply for, offer real rewards, and have spring deadlines. Consider applying for one or more of these spring scholarships today.

The American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are U.S. citizens or legal residents and who plan to enter a college or trade school in the fall of 2014. Its requirements are surprisingly simple: read an online article about fire sprinkler safety and then complete a 10-question quiz on the topics covered in the article. It is an “open-book” quiz, so you are free to keep the article handy to help you answer the questions. Every correct answer gives you an entry, for a maximum of ten, into a drawing for one of ten $2000 scholarships. Even if you get a few questions wrong, you have an opportunity to try those questions one more time for a better score. You may apply only once for this scholarship. Entries must be received by noon, CDT, on April 2.

Another of the upcoming spring scholarships is the Superpower Scholarship. Open to students 13 or older who are legal residents of the 50 states or DC, this scholarship requires that you fill out a brief application form and then write a 250-word response to the question: “Which superhero or villain would you want to change places with for a day and why?” One lucky winner will be chosen to receive $2500 toward college expenses. The deadline for this scholarship is March 31.

The Courage to Grow Scholarship is a perfect example of how easy scholarships can be to apply for. Available to high school juniors or seniors who have a GPA of 2.5 or better, this scholarship asks only that you explain in 250 words why you should receive the scholarship. A winner is chosen each month and receives $500. The deadline for this month is March 31.

GotChosen is a multimedia start-up company in Florida that believes in offering scholarships as a way to help others and also to build brand recognition. They offer the GotScholarship $40K Give Away, deadline March 31, which is decided by a random drawing so there are no GPA, financial need, or essay requirements. Applicants can increase their chances by gathering sponsors. They also offer a monthly $1000 scholarship drawing.
