Inkfarm.com, an online store offering products for printers, fax machines or all-in-one-units, has a Digital Innovation Scholarship awarding $1,000 to graduate students, undergrads and high school seniors planning to enroll in college. Simply write a 500 word essay detailing your “personal experience with online entrepreneurship or the importance of new ideas in the digital realm” and send it in by the deadline, August 12, to the email listed. If selected, your essay could be published on the website. Additional information like name, address and phone number are also required, but in your response to the “Where you heard about us” question, don’t just give the generic “Internet” answer. This site does have a ton of information so may seem like the internet in its entirety, but it’s really not (I’m too modest, I know).
The Application
There’s no application for this scholarship, all that’s required is the essay concerning online entrepreneurship. You can discuss how the internet is a great place to start a business as there are limitless ideas out there. When answering the question, it might be a good idea to mention current events (e.g. Facebook acquiring Instagram, cloud computing, etc) that’ll help make your entry stand-out with relevancy. You’ll want to leave a lingering impression on the minds of the judges. And although you could just simply type the essay in the email that you send, they prefer that you attach a word document. You can find more Q&A in the comment section of the blog post on their site.
More Prizes from Inkfarm.com
Inkfarm.com offers a number of photo contests and promotions with modest $100 awards to those who can capture the best images within a specific theme. A few notable ones include the Seasons Greetings Photo Contest, Almost Human (photos of items or animals with humanistic qualities) and the Urban Black and White Contest. They recently featured an iPhone photo contest for those who enjoy taking snapshots on their smartphones. If you’re a photography fanatic and could use a few bucks, submitting some images (only three per contest) to Inkfarm might help add a bit of discretionary spending while in school. However, if you are an avid photography student, checking out a few photography scholarships available that are more in-line with your aspirations might help your financial situation all the more. To learn more about contests and promotions offered by Inkfarm, they ask that you connect socially through their Facebook page or Twitter so that you can receive exclusive updates on valuable info like this. Best of Luck!
