This institution provides students with $1,500 in scholarship money with their A. Patrick Charnon Memorial Scholarship given they meet certain requirements. Kohl’s Kids Who Care Program
The popular clothing retail store, Kohl’s, offers students from ages 6-18 up to $10,000 in scholarship money if they meet the criteria. They categorize winners in three ways: 1) Store Winners who receive a $50 Kohl’s Gift Card; 2) Regional Winners who receive $1,000; and 3) National Winners who will be awarded $10,000 with an additional $1,000 being donated to a non-profit organization chosen by the winner. As this is a Community Service Scholarship they put a heavy emphasis on volunteer work. If you can describe your volunteer activities and the significant impact you’ve made to a community, then you have a good chance at receiving the top prize from Kohl’s. This organization provides a televised stage for students who perform community service giving them the chance to potentially win $100,000 in the form of a community grant for whatever non-profit organization they represent with $5,000 of that being set aside for the students educational expenses. The DoSomething Awards are celebrity laden television events on VH1 that promote teens who make a difference in their community. Other scholarships from DoSomething.org include eMission and the Don’t Be Trashy Scholarship . With eMission you simply earn points by playing a game that focuses on the environment and other community service activities. You could earn $1,500 in scholarships if you complete three offline missions. The Don’t Be Trashy Scholarship awards individuals who recycle and share their stats $10,000 in scholarships.
