The month of October offers a few sizable scholarships. All relatively easy scholarships for both high school and college students. Simply browse through the list and pick and choose which ones are best for you! If you’re in college and could squeeze a few of these programs in between classes, it’ll definitely be worth it (tuition is high nowadays if you hadn’t noticed). Of course, these are not all the programs for this month, this is only to provide some direction if unsure where to start. Cheap Auto Insurance Scholarship

This scholarship is open to graduates, undergraduates and high school seniors who have maintained at least a 2.5/4.0 GPA and will award the student who creates the best car insurance commercial a decent $500 scholarship. The video must exhibit any good and/or bad driving habits and be positive in nature. Share the video with friends using social networks (YouTube, Facebook, etc) ensuring you include a link to CheapAutoInsurance.org in the commercial. This is a biannual scholarship, one in the fall and another in spring, the deadline for fall entries is October 1.

College Jumpstart Scholarship

College Jumpstart offers spring and fall scholarship competitions worth up to $1,500 to eligible students in need of a little cash! The scholarships are open to students in college all the way down to 10th grade. Non-traditional students are encouraged to apply as well. Simply fill out an online application and answer one of three questions in 250 words or less to enter. The deadline for this scholarship is October 17.

Horatio Alger Association

This scholarship program is for high school seniors in critical financial need (families who make less than $50,000 in adjusted gross income). They desire to award the scholarship to students who “demonstrate integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity”. Also applicants must have maintained a GPA of 2.0. The deadline for this scholarship is October 25.

Degreed’s “Pursue Your Passion” Scholarship

A fairly easy monthly scholarship that simply requires a 3 minute essay. What sets this scholarship apart is that it’s open to students attending accredited universities and colleges as well as students learning from non-traditional sources like Apple University or Treehouse.com. Formal and informal students are welcomed to apply. This is a monthly scholarship with deadlines on the last day of the month.

CARiD Scholarship Program

This is a no essay scholarship open to anyone enrolled in college or university and is between the ages of 16 and 20. You must submit an automotive related photo by the deadline October 31 for Fall and April 30 for Spring.
