A Few Community Service Scholarships

C ommunity service is very important to many businesses and organizations that they offer sizable scholarships to reward individuals who enjoy helping others out. If you’re into volunteering around your community, you could be eligible for one of the community service scholarships listed below.
TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship :
This scholarship is for students who aim to make a difference within their communities by trying to make improvements with their volunteer efforts. Students can enter their applications starting April 15th, 2014. Those who are currently enrolled in a federally accredited institution (a four-year college, graduate program, or university) for the fall of 2014 can apply. All applicants must submit a 500-word (or less but no more) essay which demonstrates their best examples of their leadership, the time they put into their volunteer efforts, and how the applicant will continue their efforts as they continue their education. Citizen’s Bank requires applicants to pick one of their passions and write about it. Winners are shown leaders with dedication along with an impressive story about their efforts and a promising future in their education and community help. The winner will receive a $5,000 in community service scholarships.
Giva Semi-Annual Student Scholarship :
Students who are currently enrolled in college or university, regardless of major, can apply for this scholarship, sending in an essay between 500 and 1000 words which answers the question on how an applicant plans to use their talent and education in order to make the world a better place for the coming generations while also answering the question of what their career and personal goals are. The essays are posted anonymously on a public forum for judging. Another requirement is that the applicant’s educational institution must have the scholarship information posted on their website, if they don’t, the applicant must ask for them to do so or otherwise the applicant will not be eligible. Winners are chosen twice a year with the deadlines being June 1st and December 1st but students are only allowed one entry per every 12 months. A resume must also be included with the essay. Winners will receive $1000 in community service scholarships. The award winners will be required to perform volunteer work for the community.
The BBG provides this scholarship to recognize a student who demonstrates a passion for volunteering while also maintaining exceptional academic achievement to be successful in both aspects. All applicants must have completed at least 50 hours of volunteer service within the last two years of the date of their entry while also having maintained a GPA of at least a 3.5 and no lower. All applicants must also be under the age of 21 at the time of the deadline and submit a 1000 word essay with their application explaining why they decided to volunteer and state their volunteering experience and the organizations they’ve volunteered for. Deadline for this scholarship is November 29, 2014 . Winners will receive $500 in community service scholarships.
