The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

This scholarship program targets the brightest students in community colleges. Applicants must possess leadership qualities as well as persistence and financial need. Its main aim is to help two year community college students transfer to four year colleges or universities where they can undertake their bachelors’ degree. Each of the 75 qualifying students gets $30,000. Applications close on November 7 .

TicketCity Annual College Scholarship Program

This scholarship only requires a 500 to 800 word essay on one of the three subjects listed on the site. The winner will receive a $3,000 scholarship that’ll go toward his or her college expenses. The deadline is November 11 .

Intel Science Talent Scholarships

The Intel Science Scholarship targets high school students in their final year of study. The judging criterion is based on the candidates’ potential to become future researchers or scientists. The top students get a four year full college scholarship ($100,000), the seconds gets $75,000 and the third gets $50,000. The fourth to sixth and seventh to ten gets $25,000 and $20,000 respectively. The other top 30 students get $5,000 and a computer. Although the deadline varies from year to year, it’s normally in mid-November .

CustomerBloom’s Scholarship Contest

If you are in high school, college or a trade school, you can apply for this $1,000 scholarship. No essay is required for this scholarship, instead, you must create a video that is under 5 minutes in length. Upload your video to YouTube and link to the CustomerBloom’s Scholarship Contest page. The deadline is November 28 .

Youth Volunteer Scholarship Award

This $500 scholarship requires that in the past 2 years you have completed over 50 hours of volunteering activities and have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA. You must also write a 1,000 word essay explaining why you’ve chosen the specific organizations to volunteer with. The deadline is November 29 .

UNCF (United Negro College Fund) Scholarship

Since UNCF manages various programs, one is free to apply for as many as they can. Examples of these include the Merck Postdoctoral Science Research Fellowships, Merck Graduate Science Research Dissertation Fellowships and, the Merck Undergraduate Science Research Scholarship Awards. Although one need to check for the various eligibility requirements as they tend to vary, the basic ones include being of African-American descent, having a GPA of 3.3, having legal US citizenship and having applied for the Federal Student Aid. The amount given ranges from $10-92,000 and it’s meant to cover the student’s tuition, room, board and other billable fees. Application should be done online before November 30 .
